RICE Up Campaign

Help us send 20,000 lbs to the people of Cuba by September 30!

We had the privilege of being in  Cuba in the summer of 2023 and were amazed by the resilience and joy of the people there. Cuba is a socialist country where the government controls everything that people have access to, including jobs, homes, healthcare, and food. They do not have freedom of speech, religion, or job choice. Everything is decided for the “good of the whole”, but this system does not work. People are struggling to provide for themselves yet alone their families. There are major food shortages leading to starvation.

We are teaming up with a nonprofit organization that has been aiding Cuba for over 20 years to establish a goat farm. Goats are a practical choice because they do not require feed to produce like chickens or cows do. Since goats feed on grass, which Cuba has in abundance, they are a sustainable option. They have been allowed to send a 40 thousand pound container to Cuba, containing good that are for the people.

To get the container to Cuba, we are also required to fill it half with rice. The container is scheduled to depart on September 30. We aim to raise funds to send 20,000 lbs of rice on this container. Each pound of rice costs $.60. If you would like to contribute and help save lives not just in the short term but also via the sustainable goats, we would appreciate your partnership.
